apple cobbler
preheat to 350 degrees
so easy
you will need :
filling:
-6 granny smith apples peeled and sliced (be sure not to slice too thick about the thickness of 2 quarters
-2 cups of orange juice
-1/2 cup of brown sugar
-1 cup of butter
-1/4 tsp. of ginger
-2 tsp. of cinnamon
-1 tsp. of pumpkin pie mix
crust:
-2 cups of pancake flour mix of choice ( I use hungry jack)
-4 tbsp. of butter
-water
step1: apples
- soak your apple slices in orange juice for 10 minutes
step 2:filling
-in a large pan on medium heat add in butter
- once butter is mostly melted add in brown sugar
- stir until brown sugar dissolves and becomes caramel like
- add in apples and 1tbsp of the orange juice used for apples
- add in seasoning and cook for about 8 minutes until apples are firm and tender
step 3: crust
- in a large bowl pour in your pancake flour and add in butter
- using a hand mixer blend in your butter . it will look a little lumpy
- then with your hand mixer on low pour in water until smooth and thick but not watery
step 4:
-in a 9x9 inch pan butter the whole bottom of pan and sides
-pour in half your crust mix
-then spoon in your in filling (pour off excess syrup)
-spoon the rest of the crust on top
-bake for 30 minutes or until crust is golden brown
Serve with French vanilla ice cream, drizzle caramel sauce from filling over ice cream and enjoy !
